I like the Citroen and that base. A very handsome but rustic model.
I don't think Chevrolet offered that color in 1967... are you going to leave it alone or re-paint it?
Thanks Chris. I'll leave the Chev as a stuff up and give it away to an unsuspecting recipient! Won't be the first time!
Kits are cheap and plentiful, I'll have a go at another one and try a nice safe black.
How's the car carrier going? My memories a shocker, can't recall if you finished it?

Your memory is working fine..... I'll give you an update:
- The trailer (rig, including the 1957 Ford COE ) I was replicating was equipment used by Automotive Conveying in NJ, during the late 1950's. Before I began this project, all I had was ONE photo to serve as reference.
- Having only ONE reference photo is NEVER a good idea, I know better. However, I really liked the overall look of this rig, and with my "vast" car hauler knowledge, I ASSUMED (another bad idea! ) I could fill in the missing pieces...take educated guesses.
- I then came across a 2nd photo and realized I had guessed wrong in a few areas ... SO I HAD TO make some adjustments to my models.
- I then came across a 3rd photo and realized I had REALLY messed up in few more areas... including the adjustments I made to replicate what I saw in the 2nd photo.
- Following all this Geoff, LoL?
- So... I'm NOW AT an impasse.
- I can either re-work what I have..... OR COMPLETELY START OVER.
- Starting over would be the best choice.....
- Yes, yes.... I understand most modelers wouldn't care AND only one person out of 3 million might realize my goofs.... but I ALWAYS SWEAT THE DETAILS and I WOULD KNOW I messed up.
- So, the bottom line is that this project has officially stalled, for now.
- Thanks for listening.
- The pics: The first four pics include the ONE photo I started with and 2 pics of my model. The following 2 pics are the 2nd & 3rd photos I found. And that last pic shows just how much I goofed!
hey Chris I followed all that easily. I really admire your professional attitude to creating replicated perfection. But honestly mate, on face value, the work as it is now, is bloody brilliant!
I fully empathise with your approach to creating the best reproduction. Maybe as I've done, give it away to a non car person (or a car person!) who will really appreciate it for what it is? My stuff ups are scattered all over Melbourne! Quite a few are in staff offices of the local hospital where I volunteer, and others with friends. On the odd occasion I've received a pic back from a happy recipient. This is a Lotus with bad paint and a missing indicator light,
and my much improved replacement
What you've done so far is just too good to put away in an unseen spot some where.

Thanks Geoff, you're too kind. If / when I decide to re-start this project, I'm fairly certain I'll simply start over.
I love what you’ve done but I never understood why the front vehicle is lowered down; what is the purpose of that?

The model looks great and perhaps 1 out of 10,000 people may think it may not be exactly the same as one they briefly saw 60 years ago ! In any case, it is impossible to actually "prove" an auto-carrier wasn't built just like your replica.
