A 1:43 with opening doors, an opening hood and an engine under it is not something the scale has offered at anything like a normal price for years. Elsewhere: BBR has invented a new way to present a model and priced it accordingly, KK-Scale has the Back to the Future II pickup, and WERK83 is deep into the 1961 Ferrari sharknose season. Reference numbers, prices and dates are given where the manufacturer published them, and flagged where they did not.
A 1:43 Evo with openings
New 1:43 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX Ralliart models produced by , and the specification is the story. Full diecast bodies. Opening doors, hood and trunk. Engine and interior detail underneath.
- GJ43-01-01 — black, limited to 499 pieces, MSRP $119.95, ETA first quarter of 2027
- GJ43-01-02 — red, MSRP $109.95, same window
- GJ43-01-03 — silver, MSRP $109.95, same window
These come out of the same factory that builds most of its 1:18 line, which is the detail that makes the claim credible. Modern 1:43 is overwhelmingly sealed resin — beautiful to look at, nothing to open, and increasingly expensive for what it is. A metal-bodied 1:43 with four opening panels and an engine bay at a hundred and ten dollars is the sort of thing that stopped being made when the resin makers took the scale over. If the execution matches the description, it is the most interesting thing announced this week.
BBR: the Sculpture Concept, and 144 of them
BBR has announced what it calls the Sculpture Concept — not a model so much as a way of presenting one. The model sits on a designed base against a printed backdrop, the pair built to commemorate a specific race rather than simply to hold the car. The first edition is a 1:43 Ferrari SF26 marking Lewis Hamilton’s first win for Ferrari, at Barcelona in June 2026. Limited to 144 pieces.
The images BBR posted are marked as prototype. The comments under the announcement were, within the hour, mostly about the price, and the phrase that kept coming up translates as “impossible for a 1:43.” That is the tension the concept has to survive: BBR is asking collectors to pay for the staging as well as the car, in a scale where the car itself is small. Whether 144 buyers agree will be worth watching, because if it works the format will not stay a one-off.

KK-Scale: the Back to the Future II pickup
KK-Scale has the 1985 Toyota Truck Xtra Cab 4×4 — the Hilux — arriving in the middle of September in 1:18, in plain white and in Back to the Future II specification. The film version is the black lifted SR5 with the light bar — the truck Marty McFly finds waiting in his garage at the end of the first film — and after the DeLorean it is the vehicle from the trilogy collectors ask for most.
The plain white version matters too. A stock mid-eighties Hilux is a genuinely useful thing to have in the scale and almost nobody makes one.

The two special editions at 25 pieces each will be the ones that disappear.
WERK83: four more sharknose Ferraris
The 156 programme keeps expanding. Four new entries, all 1:18:
- W1807905 — number 20, Wolfgang von Trips, French Grand Prix 1961
- W1807904 — number 18, Richie Ginther, French Grand Prix 1961
- W1807906 — number 6, Richie Ginther, third at the Belgian Grand Prix 1961
- W1807910 — number 2, Phil Hill, winner at Monza and world champion, 1961

1961 was the season the sharknose Ferraris won everything and cost the team everything. Phil Hill took the title at Monza in the same race in which von Trips and fifteen spectators were killed. Modelling the pair of them from the French Grand Prix, three months earlier, is the version of that year most people would rather have on a shelf.
Alongside them: W18071001, the Porsche 917K that won the 1969 Zeltweg 1000km for Jo Siffert and Kurt Ahrens; W18065003, Nigel Mansell’s championship-winning Williams FW14 from the 1991 British Grand Prix; and W18063003, the Team Haldi Porsche 908/02 from Le Mans 1971.
Minichamps: two WRT BMWs, and Audi’s Spanish GP car
- 113252031 — BMW M4 GT3 Evo, number 31, Team WRT at Le Mans 2025, Boguslavskiy / Farfus / Shahin
- 113252231 — BMW M4 GT3 Evo, number 31, WRT at the Spa 24 Hours 2025, van der Linde / Vanthoor / Wittmann
- 117260727 — Audi Revolut F1 Team R26, Nico Hülkenberg, Spanish Grand Prix specification 2026
The two BMWs are the same car and the same number at two different races, which is the sort of pairing WRT’s season invites. The Audi is a third specification of the R26 after the Australian and Monaco cars, so this is livery and detail work on a tool that already exists rather than a new subject.
ACME: Sammy Swindell’s Hooters sprint car
A1809536 — the 1995 number 1 Hooters sprint car in the Outlaw Legends series, MSRP $129.95, estimated production 300 pieces, ETA first quarter of 2027. ACME is building it on modern sprint car tooling rather than period parts.
Swindell has been winning in winged sprint cars for better than fifty years, and the Hooters association from the mid-nineties is one of the few sprint car liveries that people outside the discipline recognise on sight.
Solido: seven new in 1:18
- 1818803 — Williams FW47, number 55, Carlos Sainz, third at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
- 1802308 — Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6, number 43, Spa 24 Hours 1985
- 1804210 — Alpine A110 1600S in night configuration, number 1, Monte Carlo 1972, Thérier / Roure
- 1808311 — Peugeot 306 Maxi, number 12, Rally du Condroz 1997
- 1802809 — Porsche 356 Pre-A Coupé 1953
- 1802210 — Renault 4L F4 van, sapeurs-pompiers 1976
- 1813605 — Toyota GR86 with LBWK body kit, 2024
A pair of Scania S580 tractor units in 1:24 came in the same bulletin. The Alfetta and the 306 Maxi are the unusual ones — a Group A Spa entry and a Belgian national rally car are not choices a manufacturer makes for the volume.
1:18 Toyota Prado models announced and coming soon by Sun Star
MCG: the Capri, twice
MCG18398 and MCG18399 — the 1978 Ford Capri MkIII Coupé in 1:18, two versions. No consumer prices published.
1:43
Solido’s 1:43 side of the same bulletin runs to nine, and the theme is nineties and 2000s road cars rather than racers:
- 4310110 — Audi 80 RS2 Avant 1995
- 4313205 — Mercedes-Benz 500E E60 AMG (W124) 1994
- 4313806 — Porsche 911 993 RS Clubsport 1995
- 4318601 — BMW M3 (E46) Coupé 2000
- 4314008 — Toyota Supra MkIV 2001
- 4310809 — Peugeot 205 GTi with Dimma body kit 1992
- 4313503 — McLaren Artura 2022
- 4314304 — Honda Civic Type R 2023
- 4318303 — Ford Mustang GTD 2025
An RS2 Avant and a 500E in the same release is a good week for anyone who likes fast estates and sleeper saloons. The Dimma 205 is the oddity — a body-kitted French hot hatch from 1992 is a very specific memory to model.
1:64
INNO64 has three new references shipping: IN64-MX5P-ND-01, the Mazda MX-5 (ND) in Pandem Rocket Bunny form in white; IN64-997P-PPIG, a Pandem Porsche 997 in Pink Pig colours; and IN64-RWB930-APPLE, the RWB 930 number 89 in Apple livery.
Pop Race has five: PR640281, the Mazda RX-8 RE-Amemiya in chrome orange; PR640324, the Top Secret GT300 Supra in silver; PR640361, the Pandem Silvia S13 from D1 in 2020 with lights, yellow and white; PR640394, the Pandem GR Yaris carbon edition; and PR640592, the RX-7 (FC3S) RE-Amemiya Street 7 in chrome.
A Pandem 997 wearing Pink Pig is the one that will divide people — the original was a 917/20 and the joke was about butchery diagrams, not widebody kits. Whether that travels is a matter of taste.
Quick hits
- IXO America has shown a Christmas item as a pre-production sample — a green and white crew-cab pickup in St. Nick’s Christmas Tree Farm livery. No reference number, price or scale published with the image. A distributor separately has an IXO 1:64 1976 GMC Sierra Grande 2500 Christmas exclusive listed for pre-order; we have not been able to confirm the two are the same car.
- BBR has three new colours in its existing 1:64 line listed for pre-order — the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale in Rosso Villa d’Este, the Ferrari 296 Speciale in Verde Nürburgring and the 599XX EVO number 18 in blue.
- Nothing new from Kyosho, AUTOart, GLM, Stamp, Sun Star or Spark since yesterday. Mini GT is still teasing its film-history sample without naming it.
- Prices here are manufacturer or importer MSRP where they published them. Where the source is a trade bulletin, no consumer price is given.
