The new Auction software is a hit, and two Diecast Zone auctions have closed, and whoever was watching them did well. A mint Danbury Mint split-window Corvette went for $65 and a brand new Mint in Box Danbury Mint Deuce highboy for $25.
Two new auctions just closed, and they were bargains
Two of the lots the Club put up to promote the new auction software have now ended.
- 1963 Corvette, 1:24, Danbury Mint — the black split-window coupe, new and never displayed. Opened at $25, drew seven bids from three bidders, and closed on 21 October at $65.
- 1932 Ford Deuce Highboy, 1:24, Danbury Mint — never displayed and mint in box. One bid, and it closed in the early hours of 22 October at $25.
Both went for well under what either model fetches anywhere else, and the Deuce went at the opening bid to the only person who put a bid on it. That is the lesson of a new auction house: the early lots are where the deals are, because hardly anyone is looking yet. Shipping was a flat $9.95 on both.
More great deals are there to be had. An ACME 1969 Camaro ZL-1 Drag Outlaws in 1:18, a Minichamps 2024 BMW M5 in 1:18, the Ferrari 499P that won Le Mans in 2025, a GT Spirit Shelby Super Snake, a Danbury Mint 1940 Gendron Pioneer Roadster and 1955 Nomad, and a 1:64 Smokey and the Bandit Kenworth W900 with trailer. Several 1:43 TSM and IXO cars are listed at $1 with no reserve!, which is exactly the kind of lot that collectors love!
Members are listing more and more — there are two West Coast Precision Diecast 1959 Impalas on the board that are closing soon. If you want to sell, the commision fee is better than eBay, at only 10 per cent of the item price and you keep your shipping charge. Register on the forums, then apply through the Seller Application page; the Auction Instructions cover the rest. Everything is at diecast.org/shop.
