Commissioned by Volkswagen, Wilhelm Sr & Jr Karmann developed the cabriolet in Osnabrück, Germany on this Type 1 Kafir in 1949. They were specialists in converting sedans and coupes first working with Adler automobiles in 1926. Model by Sun Star.

Love it! Rich, these are great pics of the "little guy." I tried my best to stretch out that convertible top fabric but unfortunately it remains wrinkled. Yours looks a bit better... but let's face it.... the real fun is the articulating top frame & bows. Sadly, the top looks best with its boot covering it. 😞 😞
Still, an excellent model with roll up windows and removable wheels.

@chris If you ever need a parts car, let me know. At the end (obviously) of the shoot the model fell from about 5' and hit concrete. RIP, baby!
