With its Targa top and spyder option, the Pininfarina designed Ferrari F50 was developed from the 1989 Mythos concept car. It was powered by an upgraded 4.7 liter 512 hp V12. 349 F50s were produced from 1995 to 1997. This diecast model is by Tamiya. I love the lines so much more than the wedge-shaped F40 but I seem to be in the minority. It's shown next to a 1/24 Bburago kit build for sense of scale.

I agree with you Rich. Definitely an improvement over the F40. Over the years, I think that Ferrari has made designs for just about every personal taste, or not.

I prefer the F40 any day over the F50.

I'm with Steve, the F40 is at the top of my favorite Ferraris, along with the 250GTO.  I do love the F1 derived V12 & the fact that it can be a Roadster, but the styling never did much for me next to the 288GTO or F40.

This Tamiya, though is an excellent model.  Likely the best F50 model available.
