1:12 Cadillac V16 from Danbury...
Anybody know much about this or what is a reasonable price for it? There's one on the 'bay but it's really dang expensive ($1500). However, it looks so totally cool.

Hi Robert, well, I have been looking for a great one for such a long time and found one in Germany.
I would certainly go for the one you found, because as mint as this one, you will rarely find.
And it is unpacked as well...
But since these models are built some years ago, time will most certainly have had its effect on the tires.
The tires exist of two pieces: the tread-piece in black rubber and the white-wall-piece in white rubber.
Google this model and you will find writings about this issue.
The problem occurs when the tread-piece increases in size and separates from the white-wall-piece.
That leaves you with a two-piece tire.
Repair-set are available on eBay, but I carefully cut my tires so they are perfect now.
If I were you I would ask the seller if he is able to determine if the problem exists on his model.
If so, you may ask if he's willing to pay for the repair or lower the price?

Robert, that price is not out of line if the model is in pristine condition. My only comment would be (as Joop mentions) the tire issue.
I have the model. Within a year, the tread had separated from the whitewall wheel portion. I received a replacement set of treads (no longer available from DM), but they also started to stretch. I put the car on a set of stands and the wheel/tread look OK, but they are slightly stretched.
Fixes are many and have been posted on this site over the years.
Other than that, this is one of DM's finest offerings ever. I have fourteen 1/12th scale models, and the Caddy is truly the best of my bunch.

Tire fix
Robert, - Tire repair is not difficult. One must have the intestinal fortitude to slice a segment from the tire and re-attach. The most surgical aspect is the removal of the spare tire mounted mirrors and their reattachment. I believe that Joop or someone posted a tutorial on this site. The repair is well worth the effort.

Tire fix without cutting is possible but complicated ...
... if any interest click on the image bellow and follow the slides backward, sorry there is no explanation with the pictures, this involved printing of a 3D clamp and using rubberized cyanoacrylate glue ... comments were posted here sometime ago ...

I can't afford that right now but at least I know the guy wasn't off his rocker.
