The first auto of this scale arrived today, with the rear wheels falling off. Fortunately, I sorted that out and the seller did right by me, in the end, so I won't nick his 100% feedback. This was one of those items I wanted but the prices were all over the map, in spite of it being a Franklin Mint model. This one came in at a comfortable price and with the subsequent refund it works out to be a good buy.
The newly-arrived 1931 Bugatti Royale Coupe de Ville, by Franklin Mint:
I'm not sure just how deep I will go with the 1:16 scale, for this one is 37.5cms long and that requires substantial shelf space. But, it is a beauty.
@chris I saw one in the Schlumpf collection, when on holiday in France and it is enormous.
I wasn't aware that FM did a 1/18 scale of this car. I have the 1/24 scale but remember someone making a larger scale of this car.

Bob, the black/silver FM Royale above is Coupe de Ville in 1/16, the black/blue car is Coupe Napoleon that FM made in 1/24. Coupe de Ville and Coupe Napoleon are two separate cars.
Bauer made Coupe Napoleon in 1/18. Bauer made the Esders too, also 1/18, and of course FM made the Esders in 1/24. Italieri and Lindberg have 1/24 kits of 2 other versions. And there is plethora of 1/43 ...
History of the 6 Royale chassis.
Apparently the Schlumpf brothers replica of the Bugatti Esders (the green roadster) didn't make the cut to Pebble Beach nor this video.
And there is another replica, so total of 8 (6 original chassis, 2 replicas).
Congrats! ...and yes, it's large model because the 1:1 is gigantic! I've stood next to a few; it's unreal just how large these cars are.
Chris, this is Coupe Napoleon, same chassis though.
- Correct about Bob thinking this was 1/18, when it's 1/16.
- Correct about the 1/18 Bauer car.
- Correct about my post - different car, same chassis & overall "largeness." 😉 😉
@chav I haven't seen a FM Esders with headlamps, before? Was this a different release from the 1:24 model?

It is my modification. The headlights are removable, from FM Coupe Napoleon.
