I've been very selective of the 1:18 scale models I've added to my collection.  Primarily because of their size, as I have always preferred 1:24 scale, which I personally feel is the ideal size for a model car.  This said, being that my favorite Fifties car has always been the '57 OLDSMOBILE, I do have three different releases of this particular model.  There is no way I could pass it up.  THIS IS ONE OF THEM!

From Wylie E. Coyote's ACME Company, manufactured exclusively for DANBURY MINT...the 1957 OLDSMOBILE SUPER 88 HARDTOP

ACME 57 OLDS SUPER 88 (Yellow) #1
ACME 57 OLDS SUPER 88 (Yellow) #2
ACME 57 OLDS SUPER 88 (Yellow) #3
ACME 57 OLDS SUPER 88 (Yellow) #4
ACME 57 OLDS SUPER 88 (Yellow) #5
ACME 57 OLDS SUPER 88 (Yellow) #6

I think this is a whole different Acme than the one used in the Roadrunner cartoons. Smile

But gorgeous car model! DM had Acme do a plethora of fabulous 1:18ths for them.

A nice one George. I didn't have any of the 1:18 '57 Olds, so when this one was announced, I took the opportunity to add it to my collection.

When this was announced I already had two earlier color combinations so I passed on this one even though I think this combination is the best. Hard not to like a 57 Olds hardtop with the three piece back windows.

I also have the two-tone Gray/Red version and I have the all Black one.  I'd really like to add all the other color combinations someday.

It's that "three-piece window" that is what drives me crazy for this Oldsmobile.  I think it is one of the most beautiful styling designs ever.  I know the lower end Buicks also had them for '57, but I think they look best on the Olds.

Nah, I think it's the same ACME company that Wylie E. Coyote entertained us with.  Laughing Out Loud

What a superb color combo for this Acme/Highway 61 '57 Olds Super 88. You really can't go wrong with any color scheme but this one really pops !

An OLDSMOBILE in any color combination is perfect.

Yes, I couldn't pass up this model either.  I think Highway 61/ACME did a fabulous job on the reproduction.

No better looking Olds than the '57, in my book!

I realized that I don't have any '57 Oldsmobiles in my collection so I just ordered Brooklin 2-Dr HT in white. Thanks for the inspiration, George!
