This is a 1/18 R/C diecast WW II model I "needed"  as it fit in nicely with all my other 1/18 WW II "stuff."

It features working lights, dash lights, 4X4, removable top w/boot and everything opens.  The body (except fenders ) and frame are metal.   The ride height is ridiculously high - I will fix that, and the rear wheels had stupid looking caps to simulate proper deep-dish rims - I removed those.

Hopefully, within a few weeks I'll apply some period- correct decals, adjust the height and do some weathering.  Stay tuned...

EXCELLENT shots Chris!! I love military & armor vehicles and dioramas!!

I built a ton of tanks (Tamiya) over the years, many years ago.

That Tiger tank is TOO cool!

Yep, I agree....  and it's true 1/18 with an all diecast body!    I'm also lucky enough to have all 8 variations of 1/18 WW II German & American tanks - 4 of each.  That Panzer weighs in at 11 pounds!

Those all look superb and the camouflage schemes on some of those tanks look great. The later stages of WWII in Europe certainly had some clashes between these Tiger vehicles and Panther vehicles as well as tank destroyers.

What would have been my future uncle, Harry Martini, was a Sherman tank commander in Europe in late 1944 in the run up to the Battle of the Bulge. He lost his life while fighting German Tiger II tanks in late 1944 and his name is on a memorial plaque in the center of town.

Cool 4X4. I see no license plates so you're not locked in to any branch of service. What are your plans for livery? Are there aftermarket decals available?

His death was not in vain.  Your mom's brother, along with all the others who fought for liberty & freedom, were truly part of the greatest generation.  Sadly, in just a few short years.... they'll all be gone.

The model was released in 3 different liveries but includes ALL decals shown.  I really don't understand most of them, especially that "volunteer army"  application, but eventually I'll settle on something - or nothing at all.  I've seen a number of historical photos in which these Steyrs are simply painted but without markings, only a few flags.

Overall, the wheels are the weakest point, the fronts are passable, but the rears are just downright stupid - they tried to replicate a deep-dish rim (a reversed front )  🙄 🙄 🙄

@chris I see the three all have "WH" (army) license plates, so that does limit you somewhat. Oddly, I don't know if I ever used the WH plates. They were either "WL" (Luftwaffe) or "SS" due to the place and time I sought to recreate.

@chris I don't get the whole "Volunteer Army" with an American Army star in a roundel.... and it still has German Army plates. Who exactly is volunteering? Civilians?

A friend - equal to your WW II German warfare prowess - said the same....   "WTF is that?"    Additionally, I've found only a few period-photos that show any sort of graphics, insignias, marks or badges.

I have rims & tires that are a better match for this Steyr 1500A, however, adapting them to these R/C hubs will require lots of modifications - all tasks I can accomplish....    but I'm so lazy!  😖 😖

I'm actively searching for a 1/18 wheelset that would require less work.   Stay tuned.....

Rich has posted his excellent WW II diorama "stuff"  several times and over the years, I've posted essentially ALL of my 1/18 American & German WW II "stuff"   - including ALL three tutorials on how I fabricated working steering on 2 halftracks & 1 American command car.   The only truly new item is my 1/18 R/C 1943 Steyr 1500A.

See what you miss when you fail to check in daily?   😏 😏 😏
