Looked at one the other day, but the side skirts turned me away.

That's always been a point of discussion around here. Some dislike fender skirts, others love 'em. I'm in the category of not liking them unless they are on the right car.
Then there are Continental Kits. Most hate them, some tolerate them, and again, only on the right car; and some love them.
"....and then the 49 Olds hardtop in green."
Oops! Not a "hardtop," but rather a "2-dr sedan." 😉 😉 That 1/24 Danbury looks terrific.

Oops; of course you're correct. Two-door sedan, coupe, hardtop, I get them all confused except for four-door sedans and that drop top thingie, the ah, oh what the heck is it - oh yeah, convertible.
HA! Thanks Chris!

Very well stated Tony.

Grazie, signor!
I was in awe when I unboxed that 1/18 Olds model. Chris, what’s your preferred method of skirt removal (🤣) ? Do you start right in with a Dremel or carefully scribe the outline to get a deeper “channel” to work with ?
"Q: Chris, what’s your preferred method of skirt removal?"
A: Dremel! There's no need to scribe or "outline" anything.
I could have those Olds skirts off in 25 minutes - basically a piece of cake with my Dremel, then a bit of "file work & paint." The problem is that this blue 1950 is the ONLY '50 Olds I have; I need to buy another - then I'll remove those skirts. 😉
I have three of the gorgeous 1/18 1950 Oldsmobile Ertl Authentics diecasts and they are certainly among my favorites ! They display and photograph wonderfully ..... real scale jewels.
IMO they all look better. I especially like the ‘59 Impala. Thanks Chris for showing us your handiwork.
