Beautiful car. Don't know why they had to put that stupid visor on the windshield.
Lol...me too Andy !! What a waste of $.
Highway 61 produced them with and without...
Yes, you're right Galen...but why the added expense ? Oh well..lol.
PICS - I love the visor on mine. It brings back the memory of the uniqueness of how cars...

Marlowe owns a 1950's car? Chrome, tu-tone paint, whitewalls? HP less than 300? Wow!
I solved the visor problem, LOL. But because of them
I cannot easily do convertible conversions. Those rivet holes hinder the width of the upper windshield frame. Still love the model though and Im not a huge 50's car lover.photo no longer available

The visor looks great and I have this exact car. I also have a couple of the 1957 Olds without the visors because they look great that way too.
Why people get their nose out of joint about this when they make the cars both ways is ridiculous.
Those visors were a really popular add-on in those days
As windshield got more sloped and panoramic, the sun became an annoying problem with glare. Tinting the upper windscreen was illegal in many states (NJ was one) although you could buy stick-on green tinted strips and hope the police didn't ticket you. Also with AC being a real expensive and power draining option, people looked to visors and reflective white tops to help keep the inside cool.
love this color combo
Ha! Actually, I had to go see how many I have. In 1:18 scale...
...I only have 15 so you have a point. LOL! However, in 1:24 I have quite a bit more! :))
HA! Yep! That's one way to solve this issue.
Honesty and self awareness are the first steps; you'll get there Marlowe. ...lol
That looks pretty dayum good to me John !!
