Those Sunstar Platinum models were a terrific surprise. Yes, there were some issues with some but for the most part they were incredible for their price. I had 2 ‘58 Continental converts, t/u & t/d, Buick convert, Mercury & Pontiac converts and I was pleased with them.

Chris, please weigh that Buick and show us like you did with the Charger. 👍
@100ford2003 Ok, and I'll do you one better; let's put everything in perspective, shall we? 🤓 🧐 🧐
The 2023 Dodge Charger:
The 1958 Buick Limited:
The 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk - mostly ALL metal, including the chassis:
Lastly, a 1/18 1943 German Panther Tank:
What a beautiful yacht. The color is perfect too.

If I had. 1:1 ‘58 Buick today I’d put a boat registration sticker on the fender to see how many onlookers got the joke 🤣
@100ford2003 ...and he could put T/T 1958 Buick on the rear of his regular driver.
(For those who don't spend time on the water, T/T is 'Tender to', in reference to a dinghy or inflatable that is a tender for a designated, larger boat, and carries the boat's name.)
@gdh Glad you asked my friend!
That 1958 Studebaker (yes, '58, not '57 ) is one of the most underrated, under-appreciated, and under-valued 1/18 diecasts of all time. It's the very first release in Road Signature's "Goin Coin" series from decades ago.
It features an opening gas door, working antenna, roll-up windows (using the door crank ), folding seats, an all-metal chassis, etc., etc....
I scooped up a few, years ago, for $10 each and took a few apart for diorama scenes. As I noted, this model is still under-valued today; many "MIB" examples can be had for less than $40.
That's not bad..... 😉 😉
PS
Please excuse the scale engine dirt. 🙄 🙄 🙄 And yes. I removed the LR wheel and fabricated a rusty brake drum - just for display purposes. The wheel & wheelcover can go back on at any time. 😉 😉
@chris 2.15 tons sounds about right for the Buick, Chris.
@chris Great looking model. There are opportunities to buy in the USA, but the shipping far exceeds the cost of the model, sometimes more than doubling the amount, so I'll just wait to see what turns up over here.
@monteverde802 Yes indeed.... that would be the correct ballpark! 😉 😉

- Thanks for the compliment. Sun Star did a fine job on these big, beautiful Buicks. If I ever get some "junkers," I'd LOVE to fabricate a Limited sedan! 👍 👍 👍 Could you imagine? 🤔 🤔 🤔
I understand, and it's a shame. There's plenty of great Sun Star 1/18 Platinum Series American 1950's cars I'm sure you'd truly appreciate. 😔 😔
@chris A favorite n my collection. Your rusty brake drum is a classic detail you are known for.
