In preparation for another vignette that is being put together, I found this little gem for one of the girls that will be in the scene. Unfortunately, there were only two photos posted with the listing. You may notice the model is missing its radiator mascot, which is why the price was so reasonable.
Well, I was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, in my previous life, so I was prepared:
When she arrives I will affix the missing component and take new photos.

Ah yes, the Devil's in the details. I'm so glad you have that hood ornament; on a vintage Mercedes Benz it's a must-have piece, congrats!

@chris Yes, it is a necessary item, for any Benz. I like your saloon. Is that an early 60s model?

- Yes, it's a 1963 "fin-tail" sedan that was a project of mine about 2 years ago.... I wanted a "working sunroof," so I made mine removable. 😉
As for your 1/18 1956 MBz 300SC: KK-Scale released a '55 hardtop and a '57 cabriolet (top up or down ). Maisto released a top-down convertible, but..... 🙄

@chris Great workmanship on that Benz. As for the 300SC I like the look of the KK cabriolet, but those models don't have opening doors, etc. correct?

Yes, KK-Scale's Mercedes are 1/18 sealed diecast (not resin ) models. Maisto's MB is "full function," but...... 🙄 🙄 🙄

@chris I agree. There is no comparison between KK and Maisto where the latter shows well. I may have to take another look at the KK line. My dilemma is lack of space, so I am trying to keep my 1/24 and 1/18 in the fully-functional category.

@gdh I gotcha! But it's such a damn nice-looking car that, I believe, was a personal favorite of Clark Gable; it may have been the last car he drove before his death. 🤔 🤔 🤔

@100ford2003 No, no..... that Revell MB, although it looks nice, is really kind of crappy & mostly sealed. My 1966 MB 200 sedan is a "full-function" Norev release from a few years ago - almost impossible to find today for less than $250. I've seen some priced near $1,000 OMG! 😲 😲 😲 🤑 🤑 🤑

The 220SE arrived today and there were issues. It is repacked and the shipping label was sent, so it will be returned and refunded.

@gdh I'm not really certain what the issue is here....
That trunk paint has a few "flat" - non-glossy - areas? You couldn't polish them out with rubbing compound? Well, at least you can return it; it's better than being "stuck with it." Sorry it didn't work out this time but there will be other opportunities. 😉 😉

@chris It's almost like you have a little room in my head, for the first thing I did was bring out the NOVUS. It didn't make any difference, at all, unfortunately. If it could have been cleaned up I would have kept it. It's okay, though, for my other 'new' Mercedes is on the way and I am hoping for better results.
