Park Lane convertible by Sunstar. Why not, right? Overall, it's a very nice model with terrific detail & working features. This particular release did have fender skirts, but I removed them. I owned a '66 Park Lane convertible many years ago; it was a great car with lots of power (410 V8 ). IMO, the '59 Park Lane was a better looking car than when introduced just one year prior, in 1958.
(....yes, I accidently posted this in the Handicrafts forum first. Oops! )
I also like the looks of the 1959 Mercury. I only have a Colony Park station wagon in 1/43 scale.

Looks good without the skirts Chris. I also have the red/white hardtop that came without the skirts.
@ed-davis Brooklin did a good job with the Colony Park Park wagon. My late friend who used to scrape my Brooklins for me to bring out the chrome trim did this model for me and it looks terrific.
@ed-davis Neo did both a hardtop and convertible in 1/43 resin several years ago.
@bob-jackman I have the Conquest Colony Park station wagon.

It is a beautiful and quite impressive Mercury and SunStar diecast of it. Very nice one !
Chris, did you “do” anything to the rear retracted windows?
Chris, did you “do” anything to the rear retracted windows?
...... 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 You lost me Steve; there were never any rear quarter windows. Sunstar never tooled any, not even on their '59 Merc. hardtops.
@ed-davis Thanks for reminding me about the Conquest model Ed. I have it in black and it is fabulous. I have too many models and because of my lack of good record keeping I no longer remember things as I once did.
With an extensive art and book collection, I keep spread-sheets on everything, even models. In Deutschland, insurance companies offer 'replacement value' if you keep good records and I update mine regularly, with a copy forwarded to our agent after each update. I also have photos of everything, which are stored on devices, on site and off. I have to trust technology, for I can't trust my brain so much, these days.

Chris, I no longer have the cvrt model but I remember, I hope, that the windows while retracted were just body color. That is the top of the window in its down position so I took a slice of BMF to apply to the top of the window to simulate the frame around it. I hope I explained that correctly. Sometimes “little” things bug the hell outta me 😂Steve

@100ford2003 ....got it now. Yes indeed, little things bug me too - the DEVIL'S in the details. When other's say, "Don't sweat the small stuff." I always answer, "Yeah, right - I ALWAYS sweat the small stuff!"
However, I never noticed what you're referring to - I guess I too need to add a bit of BMF or chrome Monocote.
THANKS STEVE! 🙄 😑 😮 😫
you’re welcome Chris. Sometimes I get too carried away. Years ago a friend laughed at me cuz he caught me using a pin-vise to drill out the indentations on brake disc rotors on a custom model. Today he is now building Enterprise / Klingon models. I unleashed hidden talents and he’s enjoying his retirement.

I love the '58 AND '59 Mercs way better than the '57. That is absolutely stunning. 🤑
