Been a long time since I had this one. Not sure, but I think this was a Highway 61 PYE Special Gold edition with custom gold wheels, 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible. Anyone have any info on this that can verify that? I can't find anything. I no longer have this model, but wish I did. If anyone knows where I might find one, please let me know...
This photo was taken in front of an actual old time diner that had closed. My board sitting atop my car, with model and the pony-tailed girl is a custom painted 1/18 metal figure (I think I still have her). I drove around everywhere and took my pics of my models. I never caused a scene. Ha. Those were the days...Sigh.
The model, the set up, pic - Golden!
"...the pony-tailed girl is a custom painted 1/18 metal figure."
I've never seen a 1/18 METAL figure before - cool! It's a nice GTO pic Patty. 😎 😎
I can't sat that I ever remember seeing this model before but I like it. I especially like the setup Patty.
That's a fine photograph of the gorgeous 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible in front of the diner, Patty. Now I am both hungry and want to drive around in a '65 GTO !
I have a hardtop coupe and a convertible 1965 GTO, both of them being 1/18 diecast models from Maisto. These powerful Pontiac automobiles are such cool and attractive cars.
Thanks, Mike, Tony, Chris, and Bob! Upon further research, found out this is the 1966 Pontiac GTO, issued by Highway 61 in partnership with Performance Years Enterprises (PYE) in very limited edition. Featured the Tiger tail under the hood, gold wheels, and I think custom license plate...can't remember the state. Ha. I can't find anything on it online. This is why no one should ever sell their collections! Ha!
@impala-patty It's a new one on me..... I've seen these by Sunstar & PYE, but never yours - it's rare indeed. I even remember the gold-plated versions..... but not your convertible. 🤔
