HW61's '68 Barracuda speaks for itself with plenty of accurate-scale detail & finger fun. The obvious flaw is the paint application.ย It's a gorgeous brown-metallic but panels were noticeably painted separately (a common problem on these ).ย The trunk spare was engineered to remain "fixed,"ย but I just had to break it out.ย ๐ ๐ย
Originally this model was purchased for parts for a now, long abandoned, project.ย How long ago you ask?ย
I bought this off eBay for $20 AND it was delivered to my door, by the seller, who lived nearby.ย ย Try replicating that deal today... Good luck!ย ๐ฌ ๐ฌย
It's a great Highway 61 diecast model and it really looks excellent in this particular color and in these pictures of it ! Lots of cool details in the replica ..... which is, of course,ย absolutely typical for H61. I have this one from them in light cream color and it is a favorite.
I have that same Turbine Bronze Formula S. The giveaway, if you couldn't see the little "S" was the external resonator that really gave the car a unique growl.
@chrisย My buddy's parents bought him a fastback Formula S for his birthday (I HATED him!) and I just fell in love. It was the first year for that option in 1966 and the engine was a Commando 273 w/ 4bbl. It was a real high winding peppy little engine. You could spot it from a mile away with that single chromed box sitting in its cutout.
Butch Leal Logghe chassis funny car modification...ย
Hmm....seems like a rather straight forward modification project.ย It appears that stretching a HW 61 'Cuda body and an Autoword funny car ladder-chassis would more-or-less get you there.
Yet, despite this relative "easiness,"ย I don't recall you trying to replicate that 'Cuda, only this one. Hmm.... ๐ค ๐ค ๐ค ๐คจย

Yes, I concur Tony, but had nothing (absolutely zero ) to do with this oh-s0-cool-'Cuda. ๐ ๐ย ย It's a 100% Marty Johnson creation from about 8 (? ) years ago.ย Just ONE of his many 1/18 custom-fab, specialty vintage 1960's gassers & drag cars. Here's just a few:
