'69 Yenko Chevelle... an ERTL resurrection [PIC]
This is the only Chevelle body I never bought because basically, the models were fairly crude.... TRU level.
A lot of ERTL's toolings have been revamped and rereleased.
This is a commission of Supercar Collectibles and I thought I'd take a shot. The basic molds are the same with dogleg hinges but the fit and finish is vastly improved, Gone is the lassic orange peel finish. The shut lines are even and tight. To open the hood, I had to push a toothpick from under the engine compartment as I couldn't get a fingernail to flip the hood. There's a bunch of detailing done to upgrade the model right down to the Yenko logos on the wheel hubs.. I like the blackwashing of the gtills and the faux hood intakes. I only wish the badging and the sidelights were 3-D foil or diecut.

Hugger Orange is always a knockout along with the Yenko livery....
Outside of digitally removing a few dust particles, there's no editing on these pictures. The tight shutlines also contribute to the 1:1 look. With a pricepoint under $90, it's a good buy.

Sorry I was too lazy to remove a few pixels; you can see closer detail. Love that Yenko.

Great pics of a good looking model. It's disappointing that these were made with the RE chassis versus the LE chassis from when the tooling was created. The molded in exhaust is a bit of a let down for me but otherwise, I think it looks good.

The chassis "is" the seperate exhaust version, not the cheaper version.

Thought everyone who owns one said its molded in painted silver exhaust. Jim you sure its separate ?

We MUST apolgize. Scott and I truly thought these had the separate exhaust. Looking again at the pre-production sample cars - they did actually did such a nice job with the painting we thought it was separate pieces. I truly apologize for not catching this. Dang, I hate being human...
