From 1959 to 1962, the Bizarrini designed, Pininfarina bodied, Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta ruled the circuit. Only 178 of these little beauties were made and you needed Enzo's personal approval to purchase one. With its 3.0 liter V12, light weight and short wheelbase, it was both powerful and nimble. It is truly iconic and still ranked in the top five best Ferraris to date.

I was thrilled when CMC modeled this car in 1/18. Before that, the largest model of this car I had was a kit build in 1/24. This model exceeded my expectations and was so far beyond the Jouef models available at the time. This model occupies a special spot in my collection.

A fantastic model of a great car - I remember how taken the collecting community was when this car came out.

I had to buy a second one when they put out a racing version and then bought the Hot Wheels version when it came out - It was not half the model that the CMC cars are but the price was right

I drooled over the red CMC on display at a local hobby shop. The issue for me was the high price and the fact that one headlight had turned from clear to milky white and the shop owner would'nt accept a counter offer.

@100ford2003 If the owner is a registered CMC dealer, he should return the model. At that pricepoint, who's going to buy it with an obvious issue like that. Perhaps he purchased it from another dealer or the secondary market. If he's stuck with it, I have a sneaking suspicion that he'll be ready to deal when that model sits there unsold.

@100ford2003 - FYI, the headlight lens issue is an easy fix.  All that is required is to use an Exacto knife to pry the lens away from the headlight bezel.  Clean off the inside of the lens with Novus #2, reattached, and it's good to go.

Love this model, though the price tag was too much for me.

I was happy that Hot Wheels Elite released theirs, though I don't feel it was one of their better efforts (like the 250GT California Spyder or 410 SuperAmerica)

@rich-sufficool I agree.  I have 20+ HWE models...some are excellent, like the 2 I mentioned.  Their 250GT is just ok.  The wheels/tires & interior are the big let downs for me.

Rich I have the CMC model and agree it is a terrific model. I believe this model came out about the same time CMC was getting out of the 1/24 scale and concentrating on 1/18. While I was disappointed in that change, I'm glad I went along with it and acquired several CMC 1/18 models which are the highlights of my 1/18 collection. Super pictures.
