A couple pix of trying an update on a 1/12 model where I am adding hood pins to a Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500. Using 1/18 scale clips, I used small plastic rod material from my local hobby store and drilled a small hole in that for the clip and painted everything in chrome (something I just recently discovered, comes in a pen, very interesting, I'll show a picture). Only thing left to do now is drill two holes in the model, working on building up courage.

Josh, I love what you're doing (looks right!) but don't be affraid. lol Do I see a Meyers Manx?
What are your thoughts about this lasted release from Solido?
Oops! I now see your comments below.
I couldn' t resist, I was only buying cars with numbers on them.
I've got that same chrome paint pen.
(PICS) I've used these chrome pens for years on my model Rail Road cars. Works great!
The LAST pic shows the scale. Look for the PENNY. I have hundreds of these N-scale vehicles.

Based on the penny, those are N scale?
Chrome looks great! I have several N building kits that I hope to one day use in dioramas to display my steam engines and pre-diesel passenger cars.
I started doing a layout and realized I like building more than operating and I wouldn't be able to display a huge layout in an unfinished basement. I've kept all the kits and landscaping materials so I can build some displays. I'm dumping the Kato track in favor of more realistic stuff.
Correct Robert. Like you I have "A TON" of N-scale stuff....
...I've been collecting N-scale since I was in my teens. My "target year" is 1956, that way I can run steam & diesel. One day, I make a layout; I've been in the "armchair" stage for decades.
