15 years ago, AUTOart released a limited lineup of curbside Japanese race cars at a reduced pricepoint at a time when diecast manufacturing costs were already on the rise. This was a short-lived solution that predated to ultimate conversion to resin bodied models with Aa still employing metal chassis. Companies like CMC, on the other hand, kept their mixed media models at the same build 'quality' with their pricepoint more than doubling.
This 2004 Honda NSX wide body Super GT, despite its curbside limitations, makes a fine presentation as a display piece. This car was race modified for JGTC (All Japanese Grand Touring Car Championship) GT500 class for AUTOBACS Honda race team. They were all based on production cars but offered incredible upgrades like this F1 style air box. The wildly popular circuit began in in 1993, but virtually ended in 1995 when the NSX, GTR and Supra were all discontinued and as the JGTC began to include Mercedes, McLarens, BMWs and even a Ferrari F40 into the mix.
Fine images ! This looks like a beautifully done replica.

Yeah, they threw a lot of fine details and build quality into these JGTC models in lieu of operating panels.
Great model. AA did a nice job on these JGTC racers. I had their Supra at one point. They're all worth quite a bit now.
