This first generation Lamborghini Countach LP400 was produced from 1974 to 1978. "Countach" is Piedmontese for "wow" or an expression of amazement. To me, it looks like a 1970s kit car that would fit a VW chassis that would be jazzed up with Empi aftermarket mods. It certainly had good performance with its 370 HP 4.0 liter V12. Because of its flat wedge design by Bertone, it had a "periscopo" roof in order to see out the rear. With only 151 or 152 built, it's now a highly collectible automobile with one recently selling for $850K. Model by AUTOart finished in Giallo (yellow/orange).

...being Italian, "countach" always meant (loosely ) "Holy S***!" Cool model but tame compared to the updated versions that followed it.
@perrone1 I think the "wow" and "amazing" were in lieu of "Holy Shit". Euphemisms I suspect.
@rich-sufficool I suspect so. Although, the only time I saw a Countach at the Pebble Beach Concours, I remember what I said. It wasn't 'amazing' or 'wow'. Let's see, if memory serves, it was a sanctified, "HOLY _ _ _ _!!!!!"
I've only seen ONE Countach on the road and on the move. Interestingly, it wasn't in automotive Mecca, California, where all manner of cars are routinely seen, but was in a somewhat unlikely Honolulu, Hawaii.
