There's been so many remarkably designed little Hot Wheels over the years and every so often, they'll take one and offer it in a detailed, upgraded model in a larger scale like their motorized "Twin Mill" Corvette in 1/24:

TwinMill 009

I really got a kick out of this massive 1/18 phantom V12 roadster (speedster) as an exercise in the Art Deco Aerostreamliner prewar movement of the coachbuilder style of Figoni et Falaschi. I decided to add 'chrome' trim from the front gravel guards to the tips at the rear. Because there wasn't any existing trim. Bare Metal Foil wouldn't give it any depth so I used industrial metal tape. I also used the foil making winged orb trim on the side cards. Add some paint and washes to the grill, cockpit and engine bay and, "Voila". It came out pretty cool. I love the "Creamsicle" color combo. The model came out in the early aughts and was later released for Christmas with Santa in the driver's seat. I see them still on eBay for $50 if you like this sorta thing.

Over the years, several 1:1 Hot Wheels cars  have been built, here's just a few: Blown-Vette, Red Baron, Deora II, and Twin Mill    😎 😎    Rich, I've used thin chrome MONOCOTE (model R/C airplane wallpaper ) when BMF wouldn't do - I like your industrial tape idea too.

This is very interesting!  Do I understand you correctly that HotWheels made this model?

Oh, and one more mod: an aftermarket billet steering wheel.

I see Vauxhall XVR in the lines of the Twin Mill. Wish someone would produce the XVR in 1/18th scale.
