The newly acquired Autodelta racing division of Alfa Romeo began to develop an ultra light weight prototype race car in 1966... the Type 33. By 1968 the Type 33.2 was ready to hit the track. Weighing only 1279 lbs, the car was powered by a fuel injected aluminum 2.0 liter V8 that produced an amazing 270 HP. The light weight came from a very simple H-pattern frame of riveted aluminum tubes that housed the fuel fuel tanks. The '.2' aldo moved the intake from a lift inducing snorkel to 2 huge side intakes. This particular model of the #23 car (chassis #015) was one of Autodelta's entries at the 1966 Daytona driven by Mario Andretti and Lucien Bianchi. This and two other entries placed 5thm6th and 7th overall and 1-2-3 in their 2.0 liter Prototype class. The following 2 years saw the fiberglass body morph to a long tail configuration for going head to head with Porsche.
The model is a low cost diecast by Ricko that's pretty well done for the money at least on par with Maisto.

IMO, it's a few hairs above Maisto. 😏 😏
