This 1976 Tipo 829 Lancia Stratos HF Rally became a classic collectible car. Conceived as a dedicated rally car that ultimately had a street legal variant, the Bertone designed and powered by the Dino V6 that Enzo was reluctant to sell with the Lancia being competition for the Dino. When the Dino went out of production, he immediately dropped off 500 engines to Lancia and 492 units of the Stratos were built from 1973 to 1978. Despite the incredible number of wins the car wracked up and the low numbers built, the car sold poorly. Of course now, auction prices are through the roof, with the last sale I could find was $500K. I always wanted a rally Stratos in that cool Alitalia livery. The first Kyosho model sold out almost instantly, but a few years later, they released this #10 1976 Monte Carlo Rallye winner that I managed to secure. It's an oddball design that includes Ghandini's double clam shell design, first featured on the Miura. Basically, the car just means business. If you wanted the street version, it was 100 lbs heavier and offered the base 190 HP Dino V6 which if tou were prescient enough back in the day, you made a helluva investment.

Like these both, this square Fiat is awesome!  As a kid, the Lancia Stratos was so weird looking I didn't think it was a real car, years later I was very surprised to learn that it was! 😬 😬 😬Â
@gavin Do you still have that Transformer? I'd love to see it.

It was similar to this, though I think this is a more modern version. Mine was a Hasbro from around '83.

@gavin WOW!!! That's pretty cool.
