....but a goodie!   With ALL the detail packed into this heavy Ertl/Precision-100 1957 Chrysler 300-C, it's hard to believe these were once about $30.   This is one on my all time favorites.  I added a few details, most notably the red wheelcover centers. The biggest "flaw"  is that black trunk; there should be much more "gray"  in there.

The detail makes it look so real.

There were a lot of bargains in 1/18 scale back in the nineties which is why I have so many. Your detailing of the wheel covers is a big improvement.

Thanks Bob. "Fixes"  like this rarely come easier, but it's still puzzling why Ertl simply didn't do it in the first place.  It's such an obvious omission; I've never seen a '57 300-C without red-centers.

@chris I have worked with Chinese manufacture and every cost is counted to the last detail. When you reach a certain price point, you start editing production processes - as we all know.  It seems to me that a thoughtful model manufacturer would delete processes that the end user could fix easily if it troubled him. For China, moulding an aerial might actually be cheeper than carefully painting wheel hubs.  However, the opposite would be true for your average car collector.
