I got this 1958 MGA 1600 Mkll to review. It was done by PremiumX for a Netherlands company called "Collection 9". It's not an expensive model. It has a diecast body with sealed bonnet and boot. The doors open with these very obtrusive dog leg hinges. Chassis detail is mostly molded in. The front wheels are fixed. There's no top up option. Build quality and parts count are similar to pre-merger Bburagos. The pricepoint on this model is under $50.

What's fascinating about this model is the fact that this car was so commonplace back in the day and this is the first model of this car that I've ever seen. Has anyone seen another model of the car in 1/18 before?

Never seen it in this scale before. I have several in 1/43 scale. Love to have this much larger one. Seems to me the detail is superior to Bburago. Thanks Rich.

Rich I have a 1/18 scale MGA made by Norev I believe. The model is on display in my garage but it is about nine feet off the floor and I have one of my 1/1 cars in front of it which is inoperative at the moment. The model is white with a black up top.

It seems like an image Norev would do, but obviously, I've never seen it.

If you don't need or want to pose it in any way, it does represent the image pretty well. I guess my only gripe in that case is those huge dog leg hinges. If you're looking for one, I know Automodello sells them.

Rich, I just checked Ebay and it appears that my model is by Revell not Norev.

I have an ancient Polistil MGA, but unfortunately its in 1:16.  Not a great model, even for the late '80's & sized wrong.  I would like to replace it at some point though, I've always liked the MGA.  Yours looks very nice, Rich.

The windshield frame is slightly damaged & is way too tilted.

That's a quite nice '58 MGA model and, yes, it seems to be a good and unusual find in 1/18 !
