Think "a hair" above Ertl (old Ertl) in most cases.

In my view, one of the real highlights of their line was the fantastic 1938 Buick Y-Job ! Outstanding subject matter and also a beautifully done model. (not so easy to find now, either)

They produced some fairly good models; my favorite was their 1933 Peerless 4dr sedan
They did some nice (under scale) 1932 Cadillacs)and a very nice (real scale 1/18) 1934 Packard and a giant 1935 ? Horch parade car (truck chassis). They did a great Porsche too
At the time (late 90's) Anson was a very exciting manufacturer.......I have all of their models ......like em all. Was sorry to see them go.....Oh did a nice 1953 Caddy too

I miss Anson, too..
I have five of their cars:
1931 Peerless
1932 Cadillac
1934 Packard
1947 Cadillac
1953 Cadillac
They're all terrific cars!
One can only imagine the fantastic cars
that may have come from Anson, had the company
not gone out of business.

Thank you, I stand corrected on the Peerless...1931 not 33, and how could I forgot the 47 Cads they are one of my all-time favorite 1/18 diecasts. Aside from my old Hubbleys, the Anson 1947 Cads were my first 1/18 out of the box cars that I detailed (mid to late 90s)
It was also the car that really sold me on the hobby.......Up until then it was always the obvious cars from the fifties (Ertl) 1955-57 Chevys (Yat Ming did the 56) and muscle cars from the 1960's and 70's.........Maisto also grabbed my attention with their Euro cars......along with Bburago and their classics.......
And then George Dill introduced me to the 1/24 market....thousands of cars later .........I finally realized I didn't have a problem...............I just had to make more money......

PICS - I only have two Anson models. A 1:18 '02 Ford Thunderbird and 1:12 Viper.
The T-Bird is just OK and on par with Ertl's. The 1:12 Viper is nicer with very good scaling accuracy.

Before Mattel, there were Anson Ferraris...
Here's a little Dino that they did. They had to dump these models when Mattel bought the license.
