OK I know... this is a "lesser model" and there's tremendous opportunity for improvement but it's "full function" (all opens), in scale, cheap (I paid c. $32.00) and ...AND it looks cool, very cool. IMO, this is the quintessential period-correct color scheme for this car. Combined with these red-line tires it all just seems to work. You must admit, those engine bay decals are first rate, the chunky "dog-legs".... not so much.
A curious thing... AW must have had running production changes (???) I've noticed these "Greenies" were manufactured with and without center conseils/arm rests. Mine is without, having just the shifter but nothing else.
No worries.... it all still looks pretty cool to me. 😎 😎 😎 And it's one of the few AMC I own.
That tooling (ERTL) has been around for centuries ( a good 30 years or so). This drag version is the only AMX I have. These are some really old pics of it. Yours has some nice upgrades.

Yes, 30 years and counting...... I believe these were included in Ertl's "second batch" of 1/18 cars. The first being, but not limited to, their '49 Merc & '55 Chevy...which are also still around. Talk about a good return on tooling...wow-wee!
Nice ! These AMC AMX's are especially cool cars and they are done really well by Ertl and now AutoWorld. I feel they are a great bargain at their price/detail level and I think I got my blue version for either $19.95 or $24.95 !
