Unfortunately it's a static model....

My goodness! I think I'm static resin bound! At least I am for this one! Wow!
(LINK) Please forgive the advertising - this shows it better, Marty
It would be interesting to know how many who rule BBR and MR models out as 'just resin' or 'static' or whatever have seen them for real. When seen in the resin, I think there might a lot of converts!
Sadly, seeing any model for real before purchase is becoming increasingly difficult, but if there is an opportunity to see any of these two manufacturers astonishing models, grab it.
Fortunately it's of a very high standard, like all the models that BBR and MR make.
Still I'm a bit puzzled...........
Corvettes are such widely collected cars you would think that BBR would find a solid market for a high end diecast model of this car rather than going the sealed resin route.
Frank, I imagine that GM went to BBR with a commission for the C7,
A lot of the work that both BBR and MR produce for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa and Bugatti is by direct commission from these manufacturers; they will ask for a specific number for purchasers of the 1:1s, etc. As a result, BBR and MR, I imagine, pay no licence fees and part of their payment will be made by allowing them to produce a specific number for the public to buy. The number of each model, available for purchase, invariably seems to lie between a minimum of below 50 to a maximum below 250. I have 10 in all, from both manufacturers, and all of them are numbered between ten and sixty.
BBR is a small company and the investment to make 1:18 die cast models is obviously a huge financial undertaking. On the occasions that they have done this, they have gone into collaboration usually with Kyosho. Who knows, they could hold hands with Mattel this time and produce a Hot Wheels Elite C7.
I would have bet money that some manufacturer other than Welly would step up and...
... produce the Corvette ZR-1. I was very wrong. The only one available for this "no-brainer" model is Welly and it is just horrible. Even Maisto didn't produce the ZR-1.
that would be Jada, Marlowe...not Welly. A Welly ZR1 would have been great, based on my Welly purchases lately (Bentley SuperSports, Porsche 964 Turbo, Alfa 8C). The Jada is truly horrid.
Has Corvette got excessive licensing fees?
Thank you for the correct Gavin. I'm going to leave the post as I've incorrectly written...
... so that as people read, your post makes sense. But thanks again so much for that correction!
Well that would explain it................
Thanks for the information.
I still hope we can get I high quality diecast of this car some day as I'm convinced there will be a strong market for it just as their was for the original Stingray.
That is right David - this one isn't motorised or remote controlled .....
and I doubt if one could push it along either. I expect the wheels to be glued to disable rotation.

Are you always so sarcastic?...I have other static models including motor citys beautiful models.
I object to paying close to $500 for a model like the corvette that while beautiful on display I feel is very overpriced. If you or others want to pay this...your pocketbook and prerogative. Perhaps since you seem to have a penchant for these and $$$ to burn, get an extra one for me as I love Corvettes! I have had eleven of them over the years and the last one a Z06.
