Not for one second did I believe I would end up with this model. Perhaps that is how things work best when we want something dear. The auction ended while I was having dinner and only later did I decide to have a look. Barely under 200€ and I am okay with that. Two more popped up for sale, at significantly higher prices, with one in the UK that would cost me well over 300€, including shipping/customs fees.
Although she arrived with original BOS box and styro case, her left rear bumper was broken off. The connecting pins were sheered off completely, so it is a clean break and shouldn't be too difficult to reattach. I did send a calm note to the seller suggesting he review his packing procedures, to renew my confidence, so I might continue with the other auctions he has listed. I pay within an hour of the auction, if not within minutes, so I hope he will consider my suggestion. He has a batch of Bentleys coming up in the next two weeks and there are four I would like to acquire.
Anyhow, back to the car. Here are four of her sale pics followed by others I found, which show her better:
My goodness! That is too fine!
Ok just when I thought it was safe to pull out my credit card lol.....
It's a beauty alright - in a livery few would think possible. Congrats, enjoy your new Bentley. 😎 😀
That's really a beautiful model. BoS produced some really excellent models. I have a few of their Imperials and a Packard.
It is a superb-looking Bentley replica from BoS. Very nice one !
Thank you, all. She is a beauty and I will order a plexi case for her. Refastening the bumper will be interesting, as I will have to tip her onto her nose, in a bed of cotton balls most likely, giving the canopy glue time to cure.
@modeldadeeee The one in the UK is still available, though it is pricey, and there is one slightly less expensive still, on The Continent. It's only money, right? 😀
