I love this car and have coveted it in 1:18 for many years.  Replicarz stepped up and made a resin copy of it.  I didn't like the original wheels so I swapped those out for some BBS units I never thought I'd get a chance to use.

@100ford2003 - I've never seen the 2J in 1:1.  In fact, I don't recall ever seeing ANY Chaparral car.  Pegasus is still open but they have moved down the street from the original location.  I was there recently and had an extensive conversation with the owner, Larry who is a classic motorcycle buff.  He keeps some amazing bikes in the lower-level warehouse of his new location.

Fantastic model Marty. Great detail. I have an excellent hand made version in 1/43 but you can't beat 1/18 for detail.

I actually saw the Chapparal 2J race at Watkins Glen in 1970. I think that Jackie Stewart was driving it. There were problems sucking up dirt and loose gravel etc. on the course. I think that it was a DNF that time but fast while it lasted.

I remember this car only as a pictorial in "Car and Driver" magazine. I was such a manic Ford guy back then so I dismissed this as an act of desperation on Chevy's part. Exoto never got around to do this Chaparral variant so it was nice to see this finally done in resin.

@rich-sufficool - Yes, too bad Exoto never went past the development stage.  It would have been really something!
