Really nice crap Chris! And man, I can't wait to see it with those mods, and especially, weathered!!
I would call the sign on the trunk wishful thinking.
This is a fine-looking older SunStar model of the iconic Checker cab. Later, I believe these could even be bought in a civilian edition and by then may have been using a small-block Chevrolet V-8 for a publicly-available model. These are solid, no-nonsense automobiles and neat replicas, too.
@bob-jackman Right, in New York? "Never Pal, youz haven't got a clue... foo-getabout-it!"
I have the FM version in 1/24 and think that it was well done. This Sunstar in the larger scale looks like a winner, and I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Very cool! I love this eclectic kind of stuff!
I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Thanks John. The punch list will be vast - lots of littles things: small detail & enhancements, fixing gaps, weathering... and of course I'll replace a few wheelcovers with steelie rims, one red & one black. This will add a bit of "flavor" for that street look. 😎 😎
@rich-sufficool ...yeah not great, but I've seen worse. IMO, the taillights are much worse; they're not lenses, just painted red plastic. 😯 😯 😮
Yes, I've seen that FM, but I don't collect 1/24.
I purposely didn't include any 1/18 engine pics, because the motor looked too short to be a V8, yet your FM has the same "short engine." 🤔 🤔 🤔 I thought Checkers had Chevrolet 350 V8s? I'll have to do a little research. 🤨 🤨
