One of the best 'distressing', 'weathering', 'aging', dioramas I have ever seen!

Right, but I'm glad, so glad, you took my advice.  😀 😀

Actually, I've seen this "mess"  before - I'm pretty sure I posted pics of it AND another one in bare metal.    This guy has guts!    Even if he received this CMC for FREE, it takes REAL guts to destroy it!    😬 😬 😬

Imagine if Rich could photograph this outdoors; I bet he'd fool everyone.     The guy has guts, but he's a great modeler!

I don't know how I feel about this. I mean the diorama is a tour de force simulated damage and weathering, but the mint model is also an award winner. I think I would have to have a second one to keep pristine or I would be forever torn by the loss of the original. I'm not sure it's a "gutsy" decision, it seems more of an obsession to explore all the problem solving and technique you'd need to believably pull it off. I doubt whether it's his first junk yard diorama. You don't do this level of modeling the first time around.

Well, of course, we never knew what the process was that convinced him to do this weathered diorama.  The model might have been dropped or possibly fallen off a table and was severely damaged.  With a broken model, the owner might have salvaged the remains by applying his weathering process to it.  I had models get destroyed during seismic activity.  As they say, "Shit happens."

"I'm not sure it's a "gutsy" decision...."

Perhaps I phrased that badly.   "Guts"  in the sense that he had to be confident enough in his abilities so as to not end up with a POS, rather than a work of art.  I strongly agree that's highly unlikely this was his "first try"  at weathering - no way!   However, when one is confident - has put in the necessary 10,000 hours - if you know what I mean - then decisions such as this are, frankly, just routine fare.

Yes, yes...  I phrased that badly.  🤔 🤔

I can't seem to remember which diecast forum I saw them on, but I seem to remember there was a modeler who only did dioramas like the one pictured in this thread. It was usually a junkyard setting or a vehicle after a crash. Maybe some of you guys have seen them too.

@old-caddys I don't think it wasn't here.  Occasionally, dioramas will show up but I don't recall even seeing several junker-themed  ones.
