Bouyed by my mods on the Delahaye, I decided to jazz up this old 1/18 Hot wheels model that I bought because I thought the basic fantasy design was just an over the top tribute to prewar French coachbuilders. With its gleaming V12 engine and massive grill with inboard headlamps, the model had great bones. I suppose this was derived from one of their 1/64 models. OK... first, it's time for chrome: Gravel guards for the front fenders, swooping trim on the side fenders, protective tips for the rear and sort of winged globes on the door cards. I replaced the plastic steering wheel with an aluminum billet wheel. I blue-washed the seats, floor mats and the remaining seams to give a tinge of color, texture and depth to the interior. I left that all chrome engine intact save for a bit of gold tone one the inside of the carb trumpets and painted the (6 volt!) battery. Lastly, I black washed the grill.
