Has anyone purchased this model? If so, is it worth $172.00 ($149.00 + $9.00 shipping + $14.00 tax (in NY))?

(PICS) Well Daniel... "regular" versions go for $129 + I don't have it yet, but it's very well...

...done. I didn't want the first issues because they had wire wheels; I want full wheelcovers. I was holding out for the green/white version until I saw this yesterday. I like this better.

The going rate for REALLY GOOD 1/18 replicas these days is about $130+ so when you ask, "Is this worth it for $172.00?" That's up to you but it's priced, more-or-less, in the ball park.

A few things are off like the absence of weather stripping around the trunk or the "thick horn ring & steering wheel." Just to mention a few but overall it's nicely done and in scale. You'll note the truck mat is VERY well reproduced with seems and texture. The engine bay also looks very nice and it's hard to beat the IN SCALE seat pattern.

I say go for it but remember.... a CONVERTIBLE VERSION (top up & down) is coming so keep that in mind as this may NOT be your ONLY 1/18 1956 Chrysler St. Regis purchase.

Well, it's payable in four easy monthly installments!

That's how I was able to get my early DM models. I was not aware of a convertible version coming up. Cool. I prefer wire wheels, though.

I hope I'm correct in assuming that the mid-section orange color shown in the photos is a camera color distortion of what should be Desert Rose, a color closer to salmon pink than orange. The latter would be incorrect for Chrysler. Can anyone confirm that the actual color of the model is Desert Rose, Raven Black and Cloud White?

Ralph, my last two pics are from DM directly. All in all, the "hue" seems to be accurate.

Thanks Chris, That's a relief. I was hoping I hadn't ordered an orange Chrysler. Appreciate the response.

Yep! I'm the same way. If it's not factory accurate...I DON'T WANT IT!

Post pics Mark; I really love DM's color combo too.... I'm on the fence (pink & black is also cool).
