I put you in my will.
..why not? You're in mine!
HA! (I'll ensure all is "liquid" first)
As you know when we talked about this, I used to charge (well guess) $25.00 hr and what was what, 10 years ago, and you said it wasn't enough. Heck I had many who said that but it really doesn't matter because Im sure if you looked at what you want to create you probably guessed at how long it would take and you were wrong. Its always a guessing game and there are times I was making $5.00 an hour because until there is a rate book for modding diecast with a baseline cost per item modded nobody knows.
Given I have found commissioning my own cars and selling them is far more profitable then modding cars that after 20+ years I have opted to stop doing it. Loved it, still do,and made enough to live happily but just not worth it anymore. Models are way too complex now. When you could disassemble an Ertl in 15 minutes for striping compared to CMC Ferrari that took me almost 2 hours to disassemble for the same repaint cost. Heck even AA Corvettes are a test of patience and time consuming. Then you have reassembly which can that 2-3 times as long as refitting every thing is even harder, if you want it to look factory stock.
