ERTL 1969 Chevy Nova SS427

I found this in Wal-Mart several years ago and it just had to come home with me.

(PICS) Allan, here's a 1:1, claimed to be the real deal........

that I saw at a car show this summer. Don't know enough about these cars myself to know if it's authentic or a clone.

The hood and the engine say this is a Baldwin Motion car.

Baldwin Chevrolet and Yenko Chevrolet used COPO cars as the base for their super cars. If this really is a phase two Motion car, it's pretty freakin' rare. Phase three looked like this. Kind of interesting that my 1/18th is also butternut yellow.

It's a shame that this car has die cast disease. It's slowly disintegrating and there's nothing I can do about it. I don't handle it much anymore. I've been trying to find another one, but haven't had much luck. I really like the Motion cars and I have a few in my collection. The real phase three Motion cars were supposed to do ten second quarters right out of the box. Same with the Yenkos.

Thanx, Alan. I was wondering.........

about the relatively low level exterior trim level (sleeper style), but I guess when went go COPO, you could really build it any build it any way you wanted! The big block and interior (the console guages, especially) had me leaning in the direction that this might be authentic, since hoods and rims are more easily changed out. What a beast!

A powerful-looking Chevy compact, definitely. A good find, Allan.
