Looks good enough to eat, Bryan.

I like that model a lot. It's just so nasty looking compared to the other variants.
Beautiful photography.

What a profile, great pictures of the ultimate late front engined Ferrari F1 car, thank you, Bryan

For those that are interested, Hawthorn was a complex man and there is much speculation about his death on the A3, outside Guildford and his alliance with Collins agaist Musso. It's a sad fact that all three were killed within 6 months of each other, between summer '58 and January '59.

They were fascinating times and well worth researching.

Thanks Rich!

The design of this F1 is one of my favorite by Ferrari. I has very happy to hear that Exoto would produce this. Althought it took a while to come to market, it was certainly worth the wait!

Thanks Paul!

I stumbled upon some of the speculation regarding the Hawthorn and Collins alliance against Musso while researching this model, the drivers, and the 1958 racing season.

Beautiful car, breathtaking photography, and a horrific story!

This thread manages to pull on a lot of emotions. As an auto racing fan all of life, I also lived through the turbulent years when dying in a race car was very common. The cars aren't as interesting or unique as the older eras but certainly much safer! The trade-off is worth it!

Thanks Marlowe!

My thoughts exactly...As I'm reading up on a model's history, drivers, and the races in which they participated, I'm often reminded of just how much more dangerous auto racing was in those early years before the advent of all the safety technology that goes into the cars today.

There were many great drivers whose lives and careers were cut short due to tragic accidents.
