Review of the Ferrari LaFerrari by BBR.
Â
This is a full opening 1/18 scale model so you can open the front trunk area, the rear engine cover and both gull wing style doors open. This one is done in Modena Yellow. The body lines are well done and have no unsightly gaps that don't match. The paint is well done with a nice smooth and glossy finish. The side profile is pleasing and the detail to the rims, brake rotors and brake calipers are nicely done. The tires are black wall and they have markings on them for the tire manufacture. Paint lines are crisp with no bleed over. You can see two photos here with the air brake deployed and one photo with the air brake in the down position. You have to be careful when you deploy the air brake and BBR gives you an instruction sheet on how to open the air brake along with opening the doors and front truck.Â

Â
The front of the car has pleasing lines and again the panel lines are well done and line up. The detail of the headlights is crisp with the LED lights showing up very well, the headlight is also well done with good detail.Â
Â
The glass is clear and allows you to see into the interior through the windshield, the rear glass allows you to see the engine and is clear as well.Â
The rear of the car looks nice and in these photos you can see the air brake in the down position on the left and in the up position on the right. The grill work is well done and functional, it is not simulated plastic. The taillights look good and crisp as well.Â
The intakes and front air exhaust on the trunk are well done, you can see the radiator fans through the front air exhaust vents.Â
Â
The Ferrari emblem on the doors are very nice and are not just a decal, they are real emblems with a nice gloss to them.Â
Here you can see side shots with the air brake deployed and the air brake in the down position.Â
Â
This is side shot of the LaFerrari with the door, front trunk and rear engine cover opened. The rear engine cover uses a prop rod that is separate to hold it open. I do have to mention that the doors have moving gas struts at the front of the gull wing doors, however on my car the passenger side is broken, when they assembled the model they did not get the strut rod lower half into the strut rod cover upper half and the upper half is broke off. The driver side strut rod is fine, this is not noticeable unless you look for it.Â
These are photos of the engine bay, the carbon fiber work is well done with some glossy carbon fiber on the air intakes and some dull carbon fiber on the rear wheel wells. Over all it has nice detail, but like all new cars the engine is covered up with all the carbon fiber so you see very little of the actual engine itself.Â
Â
I took more photos of the interior but for some reason my iPhone 13 Max Pro only transferred this one shot and the others are nowhere to be found. Come on Apple get your act together. This is the only open door interior photo that transferred so you don't get to see much but there is really not a lot to see anyway. The interior looks good, the seats are well done and the dash looks good.Â
Not a lot to see with the under side, it is pretty much just a flat panel.Â
Â
Over all this is a nice 1/18 scale model for your collection if you like Ferrari's or super cars. BBR did a nice job and shows they are more than capable of producing opening diecast models that rival their resin products for looks but give you the added enjoyment of being able to open the model to see more features.Â
I took nice close up photos of the rims showing the tires, brake rotors and the calipers but my Apple phone did not transfer them and they disappeared I took over 30 photos altogether but only 25 transferred, the others just disappeared.Â
Another amazing model by BBR. It's a real centerpiece for your Ferrari collection.
First off, throw your iPhone in the river. 😣  Every person I know w/iPhones (some have 2) has issues with their iPhones!
-Like you said, BBR is more than capable of producing replicas with opening features. That working air brake is so cool, but I'd be VERY upset to discover that door-strut issue. Great review, nice pics!
Beautiful Ferraris ! They look sensational and the yellow on the LaFerrari is certainly an amazing and noticeable tint for that rocket.
