GMP Road Runner and GTX
Hi,
Does anyone know if you can lower the ride heights of these models, some of them sit very high both front and rear, is there any way to lower them without causing any damage.
Any help/advice would be most welcome.

Hello Neil, I have done this. but damage seems inevitable although not visible. these do sit way too high. when made new, the 1:1 cars actually sat pretty low. on the 1970 models, the rear quarter panel would ride just 2 or three inches above the perimeter of the rim. the fronts would hide the very top 1 or so inch of the tire. I adjusted mine by removing the springs on the front suspension. which does not alter the appearance, but removes the movement.
as for the rear, this is actual miniature leaf spring assemblies. so you either have to take them apart and shorten them (damage for sure) or I simply bend them inward slightly. this does damage the shape of them slightly, with a very faint crease. I HATE doing it.
but the models look so much better, and I don't intend to sell mine. I'm sure there are modelers out there that have more professional solutions.

yes, true, the only1:18 '70 B bodies there are, and aside form ride height they are very well done.

Neil I feel the same way....one day I'll fix mine. The model is great but simply sits too high!
