Sort of like they're balloon tires? I see where you're coming from...
especially when the stock tires were skinny 70s.

I do have this model and appreciate it a lot. The wheel/tires I can accept they way they are.

Oh for sure I accepted it too. I had the red cnvrt and the yellow 2+2. There was no way I was going to miss out on these beauties !

PICS - I used components of the 2+2 version of this MAGNIFICENT model to create...
... a number of others.
The body was used to create my Gas Ronda longnose Mustang.
The engine was used in my Gas Ronda Transporter hauler.
The chassis was used in my custom Econoline.

This is a fabulous model. It is one of the best Mustang presentations I've ever seen in 1:18 scale.
That said, the wheels and tires are very, very wrong.
