Charlie.....Read what you wrote. It says Re-creation not exact. Bottom line is that these cars are close to being like the real thing, but nowhere does it say that it is EXACTLY like the real thing. These are models after all. A company can paint them any color that they want. Hot Pink if they like. We as buyers have the option to like it and pay the piper or not like it and pass.
I'm only playing the devils advocate here to bring out this point. I for one won't buy the car for many reasons. BUT not because of the color. This topic has been talked about many times. Why didn't they make it the actual color, why isn't it high tech with hinges. It goes on and on and on. I've said many many times. These are only toys for big boys. If one wants the correct car down to the undercoating the choice is really simple. Find a 1:1 and have a ball restoring to it to original condition.
Because you and I may not like the color of a car doesn't mean that there aren't 10,000 others that might like it just fine. This forum and the members here are only a very small percentage of the diecast buying market. And believe me when I say......We are not all experts on diecast. We each find something that we like and go for it. And needless to say these are only my thoughts on this.

I think this one looks tremendous ! I'd be delighted if this neat '36 Hudson was also done in 1/18th scale, too. It's a great-looking car in any color.

Kicking the can, again

Gee, I must have been overcome by the hyperbole as I thought I saw words like 'authentic' 'accuracy' 'real' 'precision recreation' 'lifelike' 'innovative design, precision engineering and the attention to detail' and 'landmark achievement in model-making history'.
Maybe I shouldn't be so quick as to criticize them on color, but if they got everything else right, why not color? And has anybody ever seen a 1936 Hudson convertible in the flesh?

Charlie, Have you seen an actual color sample of

Neptune Gray? With todays paints, it's sometimes VERY hard to duplicate a color from the 30's. Just wondering how close the FM color is to Neptune Gray? Since this Hudson is issued as the 25th Anniversary car of FM, maybe they used a more Siver shade........Silver Anniversary. Since the car hasn't been issued yet, I'll reserve any comments on the fit, finish, and accuracy until it's been properly reviewed. I don't think pictures are 100% accurate at the best of times.
