I need to find some hood pin clips for my Highway 61 cars, these are tiny hair pin push on clips, anyone who knows a source I would be grateful. I have tried McMaster Carr, Fastenal and Grainger as well as Home Depot but everything they sell is larger that I have been able to pull up on their online sites.

Thanks for the link, but I am looking for the Cotter Hair Pin that pushes onto the pin that sticks through the hood.

I looked at hobby shops on line for body pins for R/C cars but they are all bigger that I have found.

I need to find two of them but would like to purchase a few extras, if that means a box of 25 or 50 so be it, I will purchase a box. So far I can't find anything that small listed online anywhere. We know they make them because they use them on these Diecast.

Do you think a couple of these will work for you?

If those are 1/4 inch long from front to rear they look to be the right size. Where are you purchasing those from? I would like to just get a box of them just to have them. I need two for my 1970 Highway 61 AAR Cuda.

Here is a photo of the cotter hair pin showing the length of it.

@john3976 Yes the ones I have are 1/4 inch. I'll be honest, I have no idea where I got them from. Back in the day when there were a number of places selling parts I bought all kinds of things from windshield wipers, gas caps, rear view mirrors and the like to wire wheels and tires. I likely got these 'just in case'. In any case my total inventory is three pairs. I'd be happy to supply you with a pair but I want to hang on the the other two 'just in case' E-Mail me at fiacobra289@msn.com

Thank you for the offer, I contacted Supercar Collectibles and asked them about the hood pins, they do not know who would sell them or where to look for them, they did tell me that the Sox & Martin 1972 Cuda I just bought from them has a set of four spare hood pins in the styrofoam clam shell the car is packaged in and where to look to find them. Highway 61 includes spare hood pins with their cars that use them, both my 1970 Cuda AAR and Hemi had one spare hood pin in the truck of the cars. So I now have enough hood pins for the three cars that use them.

I am still going to look for these cotter hair pins so that I will have more spares. If or when I find a source I will post where to get them.

Thanks again for the offer and hold on to those because they are very hard to find if you can find them at all.
