ID the Maker - 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham in 1/18 (pics)

Hi All,

Saw these on Ebay (Item# 362458198411) and nowhere else. Does anyone recognize them? They want exorbitant dollars for what it is, but I assume it's because it's not released en-mass yet for the price to come down.

Thanks!

Alfred

These look remarkable and are a great subject matter being some of the so-far last actual full-size Cadillacs from the 1990 - 1996 era. Very nice !

I have asked about the manufacturer and received no reply.

On the auction, in the description, it states they are made by AutoArt. Great looking models.

Yes, definitely a good looking model, one that I would like to add to the collection to accompany my BOS 1982 Cadillac Fleetwood, just not at $299.

Thanks to everyone for their comments thus far, the mystery continues.

Cheers!

Alfred

GIMME ...seriously though, these look great. I love these last-of-the-breed Caddys, and would greatly enjoy having one in 1/18 on my shelf.
Hopefully these are just the first couple out of the gate and we'll see someone sell them for (much!) less.
My immediate thought was BoS as they've made quite a few Cadillacs. However two colors out at once doesn't seem to be in line with their usual practice.
To be completely honest, I'd love a set of 1/18 '92(?)-'96 sedans- this Fleetwood Brougham, a Roadmaster, and a Caprice!

That would be a really odd choice for AUTOart.

The first time it was listed, it was shown to be a Hot Wheels. Seller does not want to identify it.

It is probably made by the same factory as MR and BBR under the brand name VAV

The VAV is erased from the logo on the base of this model. However open this item: "1/18 Lamborghini miura Liberty Walk LB Performance, N BBR or MR" by the same seller. The same logo with the abbreviation "VAV" is all over the boxes. The base and packaging is very similar to BBR and MR. The seller states in the title "No BBR or MR". This wording is typically used so searches for BBR or MR will include this item.

Also check the Ferrari 458 or the Rhino SUV by the same seller, all of them have the same bases and different brands.

Now back to the item in question, the title is: "1/18 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham ORIGINAL Factory authorization". I read this as "preproduction sample". So the gamble is: was it approved? Are these the only ones or more are coming? Why would one do this model if they don't have a channel to sell in the US? IMHO, very few collectors outside US would be interested in the subject.

Bingo..... good detective work. I didnt have time to search it like that but I agree with everything you said. My first thought and comment was BBR.. so this makes sense but yes this is a US only type release for sure so it also makes sense its a pre production sample that may or may not have made it to production.

John, I instantly agreed with your BBR comment and that sparked my interest to research it further.

I think it is worth the money, it may never be produced.
