Most of my cars are in Plexiglas faced bookshelves but some are on open shelves and I've always had them in individual display boxes. I always found those boxes too large for my cars so I bought a bunch of cars that are advertised for 1:24 scale but were plenty big enough for my Ford GT race cars

before

I was happy getting more room but not satisfied with the limitations that the wall brackets, the narrow shelves, and the height spacing. I was also unhappy with the window behind the shelves

So I got new wall brackets, new shelves and placed white foam core boards behind the shelves

This is how it turned out

after

The models on the top shelf will eventually go into the smaller boxes as soon as I can get more

Nice display area ! It is always a contest between displayability, dust prevention and space available.

Looks very nice and certainly is much more efficient.

@chris Getting more space was the goal - what I see as an improved overall look is a real bonus. I'm thinking that moving forward I'll change out the rows every year when I do my annual cleaning and give other parts of my collection a chance to really shine.
