When Dustin Hoffman drove off in this Alfa Romeo 1600 "Duetto" spider, the US awoke to Alfa Romeo's cute little sports car and it's still the most well known model of that maker. Introduced in 1966, it's production years lasted until 1993 with over 100,000 sold. It actually sold for more than the more powerful Jaguar XK-E due to its much admired body by Pininfarina. Despite the twin-carbed 4 cylinder producing only 109 HP, the car handled superbly and was a blast to drive.
