Lance Reventlow's 1959 Scarab Mk ll driven by Jim Jeffords sporting the mascot of Nickey's Chevrolet of Chicago. Designed by Tom Barnes and Dick Troutman, it was powered by a 365hp 283 Chevy V8, it reached 192 mph. This particular model is of the winning car in the Meadowdale Grand Prix in Illinois. It's just a beautiful, classic design of that era.

Well you got me with this one Rich. One model I've never seen before. Pretty cool! 😀 😀Â
@chris It's one of those models that Replicars commissioned. I've been waiting for a larger scale Scarab and it finally happened.
Thank-you, Rich......The Reventlow Scarab was my all-time favorite sports racecar.
The 1/18 models were quite expensive but, like you, I'd waited a long time for a good sized model and I chose the version depicting its last major win (at Continental Divide Raceway in 1963).
I had been a bit disappointed with the model's disproportionate engine compartment and lack of a hinged hood, so I took the opportunity to add a few modifications to my model.
Along the way, I also purchased a few books featuring the Scarabs racing history
@clifford-read I was reading about that car. It's owned by one of the Pabst heirs, yes? Lord, you do such amazing work. My question has never been about your amazing craftsmanship; it's about: "Where do you find the time and the energy for all the mods and scratch-builds you do?"
Great looking model & I love the livery.
