JUST FOR FUN...

CAN YOU DO IT? Pick ONE AMERICAN car between 1940 & 1970
that you think is THE most beautifully styled car during those years.
Likewise, pick ONE car between those same years that you think is THE ugliest styled car.
PLEASE, if you're going to respond, just pick ONE beautiful car and ONE ugly car.
DON'T give runners-up or cars outside those years.
And remember, this is all for fun, so no offense should be taken or intended towards any person who feels that choices picked are different than how you feel.
As I said, CAN YOU DO IT?

Tough, but for today here are my pics: ugly, 1958 Packard Hawk. Beauty, 1967 Cougar.

My favorite would be the '61 Pontiac Ventura or Catalina but.....

not the Bonneville (oversize trunk length and disproportionate weelbase)

Ventura Sport Coupe below:

My least favorite car is the 1950 Buick (It doesn't have a pleasant 'face' to me... It looks like its dentures are falling out)

Well ........

Can't really do it ! I pretty much, in some manner, like (or at least find fascinating and interesting) generally all American cars from the 1930's through much of the 1970's.

I feel the same way about the different Playboy Playmates from 1953 on, too ........as a rule, they are ALL pretty much A-OK in my view !

PIC - This was a no-brainer for me! Bob Jackman would probably agree!

Without a question, the most beautiful is the 1963 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster.

To be fair, I MUST give an honorable mention to the '65 Buick Riviera

And, I must agree with Mike DeTorrice. It's very hard for me to call any car ugly as I can find some charm in almost anything.

Thanks Marlowe. I didn't pick the 63 Sports Roadster on the 1/24 forumbecause

I didn't think it was right to do so. My other choices were the 65 Buick Riviera, 53 Skylark and 56 Lincoln Premier. Like you, I find something to like on virtually every car some of which might be very small details.

oh, this is tough...

Most Beautiful: I'll just say that the black and gold combination breaks the tie, so a '58 DeSoto Adventurer, though I'd gladly take any '57-'59 Chrysler make.
Least Beautiful: I'm going to go with a '60 Valiant sedan. I respect what they did with later A-body cars, I respect its importance to the industry at the time, I respect the engineering involved, but I just can't find an angle where it's visually appealing to me. I don't mean any offense, it's just my opinion. Smile

I can't do it either. It makes my head spin.
