In 1994, seemingly out of nowhere, Danbury Mint released this extraordinary 1/16 model of a Vietnam era Jeep scout car with a fixed pylon for a 50 cal. "Ma Deuce" machine gun with quick change barrel. It offers a cloth top up and top down options as well as a flip-up rear seat. For the time, it was an incredible piece of modeling. I gave it both a light weathering and light wear. I used pastels for the reddish clay dust that was indigenous to South East Asia as well as dry brushing and rubs for scuffs and paint wear through as well as washes for an oily dirty look to the undercarriage. For its age, it's certainly an equal to AUTOart's much newer armed communications Jeep.

A+++ Rich!  Your weathering treatment is flawless, real professional & convincing!  Also, I 100% agree with your assessment, but passed on this model many times because of the larger scale. When AA's 1/18 came along (w/trailer ), I had to have it.
Great pics!
Superb Rich...........simply superb
Yes indeed, your "slight-of-hand-trickery-staging" really minimizes those scale differences....but you're not fooling me! LoL 😀 🙂 😀Â
