This one off fully street legal concept AKA the Mako Shark ll B is one I just find stunning. Built in 1969, it's a rebuild from the Mako Shark ll under the auspices of designer Bill Mitchell and Larry Shinoda. It is powered by a very rare all aluminum LT-1 427 cid V8. It now sported a rear hinged opening top for easy access. Twin door on the deck opened to function as air brakes also revealing secondary brake lights. The front clip get an air dam and triple square headlamp groupings. It also got a longer tail and a 'sugar scoop' rear window. The 4 taillights were placed under the rear bumper line. Motor Trend called it "Bill Mitchell's Extreme Shark". The car was never sold and resides in GM's Heritage Center. I always loved the C3 Corvette's design cues and, for me, this car is the ultimate expression of it.

Great style and I do like the 'flip top' for access. I was struggling to get out of our '72 MBz 350SLC yesterday, and I could have used this option, though my partner did suggest egress via the sunroof was worth considering.

I have a 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS that I think is a UT release. Was there a Universal Toys as well as a Universal Hobbies ?
